Christmas Skin Survival Guide - At Thalia Skin find natural skin care products online that can help over the Christmas period

We’ve all been there, the open bar, the festive food, the nostalgic music and George from HR getting jolly in his Santa suit… Before you know it, you’ve been entranced by the spell of Christmas cheer and well… this story pretty much tells itself!

We all know alcohol spells disaster for skin and we all know that prevention is better than the cure.. there I said it, but for those of you who could not resist a time that got too jolly, we have your back. We would love to gift you with 12 days of wisdom, filled with tips and tricks, so your skin can survive this silly season.

I have teamed up with my two incredible sisters-in-law, one a nutritionist and another a naturopath, (yes, we are quite the family!) who have graciously shared with me their wisdom to bring you the very best skin survival guide yet!

Like any great adventure, preparation is key to survival.

Step 1: Beauty Supplements for Beautiful Skin
Your skin is going to need some additional support! Supplements can offer a boost of critical nutrients, including vitamins, minerals, amino acids and probiotics, to support your skin and your immune system. I am extremely particular about sourcing quality supplements, from people I know and trust. I would always recommend seeing your qualified health practitioner, nutritionist or naturopath before you begin, so they can advise the best supplements to suit you. I have personally experienced great results with the Metagenics range, however, one of my all-time greatest girl crushes “Dr Libby Weaver”, has also just released another beautiful bio blend, specifically targeting skin, as well as supplements to support liver (very important while drinking!), sleep, daily greens and zinc. Last but not least, Elle McPherson’s WelleCo, formulated with her doctor, Dr Simone Laubscher, seems to tick all the right nutritional boxes for me, including taste!

To top up your tank heading in, here are some key nutrients you may need:

Vitamin B & C – Essential for boosting collagen production, helps repair and rebuild skin tissue, provide adrenal support and combat stress.. Especially with all those Christmas deadlines!

Magnesium – To support humming hormones, stress and support your sleep.

Zinc – Helps regenerate skin cells, reduces inflammation, aids in wound healing and is a must for the formation of collagen.

Daily Greens – We always say here at Thalia that nothing makes you glow like green! This is an effortless way to feed your body a matrix of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants, support detoxification, assist in keeping your body alkaline, and boost your energy levels through this crazy time of year.

Step 2: Up your Antioxidants to Mop up Free Radicals
The phytonutrients found in fruits and vegetables are not only vital for strengthening cell membranes and protecting collagen, but the darker pigments are also packed with polyphenols, acting as potent scavengers of free radicals throughout your body, and within your skin.

Here are the top 20 Antioxidant Foods according to the ORAC scale, to assist you in replenishing and neutralising all that Christmas cheer.
